It has been great turn out for the charity funds raising event, Ride for Refugees. The weather was a bit windy and cold. Everyone was very exiting that day October 13, 2007. These were the pictures are from the Ride for Refugee at Hamilton’s Water Station #7.
The charity fund raising Ride was done in 3 cities simultaneously. They were located at Waterloo, Hamilton, and Brantford with about 517 cyclists bicycled over 23,142 km in support of refugees. Some said it is half way around the world.
For Hamilton fund raising event, there were 3 routes (25 km, 50 km, and 100 km) for the riders to choose. All started at Calvary Christian Reform Church and finish at Philpott Memorial Church.
We should give a big applause for those who organized this event and the volunteers and the cyclists, especially to Christine Vaughan who organized the Philpott Church team, a job well done.
Whether is disaster relief, fighting Poverty, or voice up against injustice, the charities listed in this web site did a great work for the people. We can learn much from them. It is good to know where needed help and see if we can contribute in some way. To give does not have to be money!
